Gaye Adams

Fran Alexander

"I was entranced by art from an early age, enthralled throughout my life by the ability to capture, with intimacy, the magnificence of a blossom, the simplicity of ordinary moments, and the way light evokes a sense of feeling from all of these things. I create paintings that convey the connections I make within myself, whilst keenly observing and interacting with my surrounding community." Visit the site below to learn more...

Justine Andrew

The vividness and boldness of line practiced by pop movement non-traditionalists, such as Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns and Roy Lichtenstein, provided inspiration for Justine's early works. She soon evolved her own personal iconography from that exposure. Over the years, her style has evolved to what she now refers to as “a cross between organic creation and synthetic production”. Justine’s paintings teeter between design and abstraction, with her main goal being to create something that engages the minds eye. Visit the site below to learn more...

Disparate, geometric forms seeking equilibrium are prominent in Deborah Bakos' minimalist, abstract paintings. Conjuring both spiritual and temporal metaphors, much of her work employs geometric shapes, circles representing the dynamic, cyclical nature of human evolution, while squares refer to the solid, earthy ways in which we often ground ourselves. There are ephemeral figures in her work as well... gestural strokes that are mere hints of moments lived. Visit the site below to learn more...

Riti Batra

This emerging artist and a photographer explores the world of abstract art through painting, photography, and mixed media.

"Painting for me is a medium that allows me to reclaim that which gets eroded by everyday life. The process of painting creates a zone which bridges the gap between what is visible and what lies beyond the obvious. Between these two zones infinite possibilities exist and it is in that space where art happens to me." Visit the site below to learn more...

Aurelia Bizouard

Glass is entirely part of my artistic journey. Using glass as a material was at first a mistake AND appealed to me right away: it was a revelation WHEN ONE DAY I broke a PICTURE frame. I decided to use the part of the glass which remained intact as a canvas. Since then, glass has become part of my everyday life and helps me to create all my artistic desires through intuitive and action painting. It is a practice I call GLASSISM. Jordan Blackstone

Who am I? I’m a Photographer who loves to paint and a painter who loves photography. Growing up in Alberta, I was surrounded by the wild beauty of the prairies and the ruggedness of the Rockies. With these as my backyard, they have influenced my style and given me a strong appreciation for the raw beauty of the life around me. Don’t try to fit me into a particular genre for I am constantly growing and learning. While wildlife and nature are my main focal points, I also enjoy working on portraits and graphic design. Each one presents its own unique challenges. Visit the site below to learn more...

Wim Blom

Wim Blom has a unique realistic style. His pictures appear straightforward and sincere, with unassuming subject matter and solid planes of background colour. The point of view is level with the tops of pitchers, bowls and cups, giving them a smooth, designed look. Even the colours are subdued. It is very cool work, very methodical – a clean architecture of simple objects on simple grounds that radiate a sense of timelessness. Visit the site below to learn more...

Sonya Iwasiuk

Sonya's art captures the pureness and beauty, as well as the harshness and dark realities of nature, places, people and things that are often never seen or overlooked. Raised in small towns and farms in Northern Alberta, with iconic expansive skies and endless fields sprinkled with deserted homesteads, she developed a love for nature and the abandoned. No wonder she creates her artworks with the jewels of old jars, and tractor parts buried like fossil bones in the dust of top soil. Visit the site below to learn more...

Paul Jorgensen

The whimsical, funky, unusual worlds created by Jorgensen are full of questions, appealing to the child within. His use of bright tropical colours, rudimentary shading, twisted houses, and stretched trees exude a magical sense of the sublime, disguising the level of expertise and training used to create it. In many of his artworks, the entire surface is filled to overflowing with an interlocking puzzle of forms and shapes. Some of these shapes add a visual energy and focus, while others are repeated, making patterns that resemble ploughed fields, winding pathways, and neatly planted gardens. Jutta Kaiser

"The varying moods of nature are the source of my inspiration. By observing, I create recognizable but imaginary objects or landscapes that translate images and impressions into shapes and colour. I work with Mixed Media to realize my goal - using a myriad of materials to achieve a variety of textures. My palette consists mainly of warm colours, including Acrylide Yellow, Alizarin Crimson and Paynes Grey. By layering many of these in the form of washes, I am able to achieve greater depth of color."  Visit the site below to learn more...

Janna Kumi

My artwork draws inspiration from the function, form and pattern occurring in the small, seemingly insignificant or overlooked components of the natural world.  Trees hold a special interest. Among some of the largest organisms on earth, they support life itself by emitting oxygen and are interconnected in amazing ways with the broader ecosystem they inhabit.  I focus mostly on tree bark and wood – on its textures and colours, the life forms that find a home there - and to explore the ways trees communicate with their surroundings. Glenn Payan

He describes his art as being 'a caricature of history', memories of the past, devoid of people. "Our minds seem to have a way of caricaturizing our past, picking out the best, most colorful moments.” Visit the site below to learn more...

David Wilson

"Water, or fluidity, is a pervasive theme that runs through so much of my work. I live in the Pacific Northwest, an area renowned for the unenviable amount of rain that falls each year. In spite of its possible negative connotations, there is a universal appeal to rain soaked city streets that evokes something entirely visceral. Throughout my work, water is implicitly identified either through subject or in the way the paint lies on the surface. It becomes an out of control kaleidoscope of light and colour infused with what we know and what we think we know, or remember."
